The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), entity responsible for the website, complies with the requirements concerning the privacy and protection of data submitted by its users, as per Law no. 58/2019, which ensures the implementation in the national legal order of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

This commitment is assumed in the MFA’s Privacy Policy and reinforced in the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Personal Data, which governs the activity of all workers, employees and managers of the MFA with regard to the principles of privacy and professional secrecy.

Although it is possible to browse this website without providing any personal information, there are cases in which it is essential that you provide us with certain personal data in order for us to be able to provide the services you request.

The MFA uses a set of security technologies and procedures suitable for protecting your personal data from unauthorised access or disclosure, including:

  • Physical security measures, such as access control of employees, collaborators and visitors to the Ministry’s premises and, on the Data Centre premises, very strict mechanisms for fighting intrusion, extinguishing fires, 24x7 monitoring of equipment and accommodation of equipment in dedicated back-offices;
  • Logical security measures, in the component of access to systems and workstations through mechanisms for identity, authentication and privilege management; in the network component, the use of firewalls and intrusion detection systems, segregating networks and application environments, as well as encryption of information through secure communication channels.
